Tim Holroyd – a recipe for success

Tim Holroyd - Business Consultant at Zipform Digital

With many years’ experience in the Customer Communications Management space within industries such as gas, electricity, banking and insurance, Melbourne based Tim Holroyd has amassed a broad range of skills and a huge repository of knowledge.

In this article, we find out more about his recipe for success, and what attracted him to Perth based Zipform Digital.

Tim Holroyd is the kind of person you want to have by your side when everything goes pear-shaped. With a level-head, logical inquiring mind and decades of experience, Tim is a guy who works hard for his clients.

A husband and father of two university age boys, Tim was originally attracted to the prospect of bringing real-world solutions to solve client challenges when he considered the remote working opportunity offered by Zipform Digital – headquartered in Perth, Western Australia.

“I love the challenges – and rewards – that come with scoping an issue and being able to apply a bespoke blend of cutting-edge technology and human-centred processes. The Zipform Digital team are particularly adept at getting that mix right, and despite my initial concern of being a remote worker based in Melbourne, I’m glad I took the opportunity offered.”

“The office footy tipping gets fairly competitive as I’m a Carlton supporter, and working across different time zones is sometimes tough, but we have so many clients here that it’s great to have more feet on the ground here in Melbourne. Zipform Digital is rapidly expanding on the East Coast and it’s an exciting time to be part of that.”

The missing piece of the puzzle

Andrea Candy, Head of Growth and Customer Experience at Zipform Digital, said having Tim in her team felt like finding the missing piece of the puzzle.

“There’s no question that he is 100% committed to not only getting the best outcomes for us, but especially for his clients. He has a great technical understanding of processes, and his decades of experience in the industry is evident in the critical thinking and solutions he offers.”

With echoes of this praise sounding throughout the business, Tim was happy to share his approach to creating successful proposals.

“It’s a simple proven approach that I like to bring to every problem and opportunity. Just take the time to understand the complete picture. Key decision makers aren’t always the expert that’s needed – typically they are busy and juggling competing priorities. I focus on one question – are we making it easy and seamless for them?”

Tim went on to share more details on developing winning proposals, starting with simply asking questions and listening.

“Make sure you hear the perspectives of all stakeholders involved. I’ve experienced so many instances where someone was left out of the initial consultation, which ended up with us having to start from the beginning.”

“By following these five questions, you are sure to get the outcome you need:

  1. Does it make sense?

  2. Does it bring value to both your client and the business?

  3. Does it address all the problems?

  4. s it realistic, repeatable and reliable? Never promise a solution that you suspect can’t be delivered.

  5. Find out what the return on investment is for the client. Assessing all the options out there whilst ensuring maximum value to outsource spend can be challenging and daunting for clients.”

A balanced life

Having a solid combination of work and life is important to Tim.

“My weekends are fun and full.  Whether it’s going to watch the kids sport, playing golf, or going to the “G” to watch a game of Aussie Rules, I’m rarely still.  My wife and I love dinners out and catching up with friends – I also love surfing and spending time at the beach, but it’s a struggle to find time.”

Just in case you thought Tim had enough on his plate, he’s also a regular supporter of the Kids with Cancer Foundation, and the Royal Childrens Hospital.

“Thankfully there’s no dramatic personal stories there. When the boys were young, we had to visit the hospital for both of them, and I’ve supported both the hospital and Kids with Cancer Foundation ever since – they’re both great causes.”

Based in Melbourne, Tim Holroyd has extensive experience providing Business Process Outsourcing, Customer Communications Management and data services for gas and power retailers, finance, banking and insurance sectors, and telecommunications. Having spent more than 20 years building skills in areas such as Application Development, Change Management, Process Management and digital transformation – Tim brings a passion for solving client challenges to Zipform Digital.
