A chat with Kerry Furno

Kerry Furno is the self-professed queen of multi-tasking, who is passionate about creating seamless customer experiences, and in her spare time, designs and creates jewellery, and campaigns for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Having celebrated her third anniversary with Zipform Digital, we spoke to her to find out just what an account manager does.

What does a typical day for you look like?

As an account manager at Zipform Digital, there is no such thing as a typical day. I bounce from project meeting to workshop to document writing to problem solving for a problem you didn’t even know existed that morning, all whilst making sure that our clients and my colleagues feel calm and reassured. I find that my role has a somewhat creative element to it with the different solutions I look to for my clients.

My day generally starts with coffee and emails, catching up on what the team in Western Australia did the previous night – with the time difference between the East and West coast means there is usually a good pile of emails to check.

I usually have a daily WIP meeting (or two) with a client – which could be discussing a Bill redesign project or scoping out a development solution with their Project Management team; or working out the best way to handle an issue affecting their customers which we can assist with.

Throw in lunch and two or three more coffees (it’s a problem), more meetings and emails.

What drives you on a personal level?

I need to be achieving as many personal goals as I do professional ones. During the many COVID-19 lockdowns in Melbourne, I tried every hobby suggested and finally found one that stuck. I now make polymer clay jewellery, which adds that creative drive into my personal – not just professional - life as well.

Breast Cancer Awareness is also very close to my heart, in particular I support the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s Go Pink Initiative every June and dye my hair pink. This year, I am hoping to get some more takers at Zipform Digital to join me.

Kerry Furno is an Account Manager at Zipform Digital and is based in Melbourne, Victoria.
