The place she chose twice: Sarah Jonsson celebrates 10 years at Zipform Digital

2026 has been a year of milestones. This week, Senior Account Coordinator Sarah Jonsson is celebrating 10 years at Zipform Digital. She shares what made her stay, come back and how the business has evolved during her time.
When Sarah Jonsson walked through the doors at Zipform Digital in 2015, she was a Junior Account Coordinator looking after orders for cheques and envelopes.
Email delivery was only just emerging and archived documents were still being distributed on CDs.
Ten years later, the technology Sarah works with has changed considerably and so has her role. As a Senior Account Coordinator, she now works across complex implementations, collaborates closely with the Development team and contributes to improvements across products and processes.
“Looking back, I wouldn’t recognise the person who walked through the door in 2015,” she said.
For Sarah, the past decade hasn’t simply been about progressing through different roles. It has been an opportunity to build her career as both the business and the customer communications industry evolved around her.
Learning one change at a time
Sarah’s first role at Zipform Digital gave her a solid grounding in the operational side of the business before she progressed to supporting local government clients and project implementations as an Account Coordinator.
As email became more established and technologies such as BPAY, archive portals and increasingly sophisticated digital solutions were introduced, Sarah had the opportunity to learn each new capability as it became part of the business.
It’s something she recognises as an advantage of having been at Zipform Digital through such a significant period of change.
“Someone starting today would be learning all of those moving parts at once, whereas I had the opportunity to develop that knowledge step by step over the past decade.”
It’s the place she came back to
Sarah’s time at Zipform Digital hasn’t been completely uninterrupted. After leaving the business for a short period, she discovered that some of the things she had taken for granted were actually the things she valued most about her work.
She missed the variety that came with each day, working across different teams and most of all, she missed having new problems to solve. So when the opportunity came up to return to Zipform Digital, the decision felt right, especially as there was another part she had missed too: the people.
Sarah remembers being welcomed from the moment she first joined the business, with colleagues generously sharing their knowledge and helping her learn.
“Training was a team effort, and I quickly got to know my colleagues beyond just the work.”
That sense of support and camaraderie has remained important to Sarah throughout her career, although these days she is just as likely to be the person sharing her knowledge with someone else.
From building confidence to leading the way
Over the past 10 years, Sarah has gone from relying on guidance and regular check in’s while learning the business to independently leading complex implementations.
One of her proudest moments was being trusted to represent Zipform Digital at interstate local government conferences, meeting clients face-to-face and speaking with prospective clients.
“I was genuinely surprised and honoured because there were so many other experienced people who could have attended (the conferences), yet the business placed their trust in me.”
Looking ahead, Sarah wants to continue improving the way Zipform Digital works, whether that’s refining processes, working to solve problems or helping make future implementations smoother.
“The best days are the ones where I can leave something better than I found it, and I’d love to continue making that kind of impact in the years ahead.”
