Tim Holroyd – a recipe for success

  • With extensive experience in Customer Communications Management across gas, electricity, banking and insurance, Melbourne-based Tim Holroyd brings a deep and practical understanding of complex customer environments. In this article, we explore his recipe for success and what attracted him to Perth-based Zipform Digital.

“I love the challenges – and rewards – that come with scoping an issue and being able to apply a bespoke blend of cutting-edge technology and human-centred processes. The Zipform Digital team are particularly adept at getting that mix right, and despite my initial concern of being a remote worker based in Melbourne, I’m glad I took the opportunity offered.

The office footy tipping gets fairly competitive as I’m a Carlton supporter, and working across different time zones is sometimes tough, but we have so many clients here that it’s great to have more feet on the ground here in Melbourne. Zipform Digital is rapidly expanding on the East Coast and it’s an exciting time to be part of that.”

Combining technical expertise and customer-first thinking

“There’s no question that he is 100% committed to not only getting the best outcomes for us, but especially for his clients. He has a great technical understanding of processes, and his decades of experience in the industry is evident in the critical thinking and solutions he offers.”

“It’s a simple proven approach that I like to bring to every problem and opportunity. Just take the time to understand the complete picture. Key decision makers aren’t always the expert that’s needed – typically they are busy and juggling competing priorities. I focus on one question – are we making it easy and seamless for them?”

“Make sure you hear the perspectives of all stakeholders involved. I’ve experienced so many instances where someone was left out of the initial consultation, which ended up with us having to start from the beginning.”

By following these five questions, you are sure to get the outcome you need:

    1. Does it make sense?
    2. Does it bring value to both your client and the business?
    3. Does it address all the problems?
    4. s it realistic, repeatable and reliable? Never promise a solution that you suspect can’t be delivered.
    5. Find out what the return on investment is for the client. Assessing all the options out there whilst ensuring maximum value to outsource spend can be challenging and daunting for clients.”

    A balanced life

“My weekends are fun and full.  Whether it’s going to watch the kids sport, playing golf, or going to the “G” to watch a game of Aussie Rules, I’m rarely still.  My wife and I love dinners out and catching up with friends – I also love surfing and spending time at the beach, but it’s a struggle to find time.”

“Thankfully there’s no dramatic personal stories there. When the boys were young, we had to visit the hospital for both of them, and I’ve supported both the hospital and Kids with Cancer Foundation ever since – they’re both great causes.”
